This vessel was SOLD on May 12. This 1977 Kelly Peterson KP 44 Center Cockpit Sloop is in good condition for her age and usage and has been very well-loved and maintained by her current liveaboard owners. She will make a wonderful floating condo in beautiful Hawaii, the perfect inter-island cruiser, or a solid and dependable world sailor! She is a very impressive, exquisite classic which still has a modern feel. Very bright and clean throughout! The desirable center cockpit has beautiful teak and provides a smooth, comfortable, and safe ride, especially in Hawaiian swells. She is being offered for sale as the owners are ready to move aboard their trawler. The Perkins diesel engine fires up smoothly and runs beautifully. All standing rigging has been replaced within the past five years - please see details below. Below deck, you'll find two staterooms. The forward V-berth cabin is beautifully appointed with teak cabinetry throughout and plenty of storage. The aft cabin can be accessed directly from the deck or through a companionway from the main cabin. It is also beautifully appointed with lovely woodwork and a spacious king-sized bed. Both have private en suite heads including showers, vanities, and sinks. In the companionway leading to the aft stateroom, there is a very large sail locker tucked away on the starboard side. The full galley features a gimbaled propane stove, oven, double sinks, microwave, and two large refrigerators and deep-freezer boxes. The two ACs on board keep this vessel nice and cool, even in the hottest tropical weather. Within the last six years, the current owner has made many significant upgrades, including: -- New chainplates -- New forestay deck weldment -- New standing rigging including wire, turnbuckles, staylocs, mast tangs, etc. -- New lifelines -- Rebuilt the roller furler -- Beautiful new dodger including spray curtains and sunshades -- New - never been used - mainsail -- New jib sheet -- New hatch windcatchers -- New water heater -- New fresh water pressure pump with accumulator The engine has had a new fuel injection pump assembly and a new raw water pump. There are also new steering cables. Navigation electronics and equipment include an autopilot, wind vane steerer, tiller pilot, SSB radio, pactor modem, tuner, VHF radio, two GPS, three handheld VHFs and radar. Some of the electronics are "original" but still functioning perfectly. Safety equipment includes a Weeks & Plath SOS strobe with a day flag. (4) B-1 fire extinguishers, (8) Type 1 offshore PFDs and Lifesling, and a MOB flag. Anchors include a Bruce 66 lb with 3/8" all-chain rode and a CQR 60 lb with 3/4" nylon rode with chain leader. There are also a couple of spare picnic or stern anchors. 200 ft of 3/4" double braid as a spare line or anchor line with a 3/8" chain leader with snubber and grab hook that can be used for a dampener on-chain rode. In addition, there are 3/4" dock lines with snubbers. The propeller is a MaxProp, feathering type and the original 3-blade fixed prop is on board as a spare. The new dodger is one of the finest you will find on any vessel with spray curtains and sun shades. It even has clear isinglass in the top to be able to view the mainsail. Along with the installed mainsail, which is in 'average' condition, there is a brand new main which has never been used. The rolling furler was rebuilt and there is a new jib sheet. All USCG Safety Gear is also included. Bonus Inventory: There are also two 5hp outboards (one Honda and one Johnson) which were left on board by the previous owner and have never been used. Their condition is unknown but the seller thinks they turn over. Two solar panels are on board, which the seller has never used.
