Zephyrus (formerly Icebreaker) has been a competitive and formidable race yacht in New Zealand since her arrival in 2015 from Hong Kong. She has been heavily raced and maintained around the Auckland and North Island coastline, with her latest result being 1st PHRF at Bay of Islands Sailing Week 2024. In 2014, she had a complete new rig and spar installed, along with the new Mark2 Jason Ker designed keel, with weight transferred to the now 3.2m deep bulb.
When purchased in 2021, an extensive refit was carried out, which included:
Equipped with a full 2021 Doyle Sails Stratis Inventory which includes:
There is both a masthead and jib lock system allowing for a jib cunningham system to be run on an infinity line through the boat. All sail controls are easily accessible. A new ultralon u-dek has been installed in the cockpit alongside a vinyl hull wrap, and a new custom designed sliding bow race hatch with a simple string line drop system. She is ready to race competitively both inshore and coastal, featuring a refined racing interior and crew accommodation.
