Beautiful Landing School 26 Weekender just out of the shop with all new brightwork and ready for spring.

If you don't know the LS 26, she is a Maine built boat from the famous Landing School in Arundel. The design drew its inspiration and pedigree from the classic, traditional sailers of New England and most especially the famous Herreshoff Alerion, Nathan Herreshoff's personal and favorite boat he sailed 365 days a year out of Bristol in Naragansett Bay.

Construction Details
  • Hull is West System cold molded on a male mold. Four 1/8 inch layers of cedar are laminated and vacuum bagged, and covered with a 6 ounce layer of cloth for durability.
  • Full length stringer, structural bulkheads and joiner work are bonded to the hull to form a stiff structure.
  • Deck is Xynol covered plywood over laminated spruce beams.
  • The cockpit drains through a slatted teak sole to a separate sump with an automatic bilge pump
  • The fin keel is bedded in epoxy and thru-bolted to the hull with silicon bronze bolts
  • Welded stiffeners on the stainless steel rudder stock distribute the steering loads to the fiberglass rudder skins
  • Chainplates are thru-bolted to the hull structure
  • 1 1/2 manual diaphragm type bilge pump
