The California 32 is a beautiful classic wooden sloop, measuring 14 meters in length and 3.30 meters in width. It was built in May 1937 by Fellows and Stewart, based on the designs of naval architect Nicholas Potter, also known as the 'Herreshoff of the West.' The boat is equipped with a 37 kW Perkins engine.

The California 32 is renowned for being a formidable racer and a comfortable cruiser designed for pleasure sailing on the Pacific coast. Eight of these sloops were built between the 1930s and the 1960s, and they were often featured in the West Coast yachting press.

The main features of this sailboat are its overall elegance, the finesse of its lines, and the authenticity and excellence of its original construction. Maneuverability during regattas is also remarkable, as evidenced by the successive victories of seven of the eight California 32s in the prestigious "Sir Thomas Lipton Cup" regattas organized by the Yacht Club of San Diego from 1948 to 1964.
