- Kalypso has seen excellent care and maintenance from her original owner. He has continually upgraded her and is having a new headsail made this fall. She is in lovely condition and ready to cruise or sail south for the winter.
- In 2012 "Cruising World" awarded this model "Best Cruiser from 40-44 ft" and "best value".
ACCOMMODATIONS From Sail Magazine;
- "Hunter Marine was always devising new ways of increasing and maximizing interior volume. It seems only natural that the Hunter 41 DS takes advantage of a deck-salon layout to achieve a more open and airy accommodations plan. The DS has large elevated windows for panoramic views and a whopping 6' 10" headroom in the saloon."
Here is a walk-thru from stem to stern:
- Starting in the forepeak is a large head compartment consisting of the toilet with teak fold down seat and shower area. Moving aft you enter one of the 2 large staterooms, it consists of a "Pullman" queen berth to port. To starboard is a vanity with sink followed by a large cedar lined hanging locker. There is additional storage outboard and under the vanity.
- Next we enter the spacious salon. To port she has a U-shaped dinette that can convert to a double berth with the table lowered. To starboard is a comfortable settee. There are shelves and cabinets outboard. She is bright with all the windows that the Deck Salon offers all around yet warm with her wood bulkheads, cabinetry and teak and holly sole. The fabric is a light beige color and adds to her light interior.
- Moving aft of the dinette is her large L-shaped galley. Light Corian counters are clean and bright. This galley is spacious enough for extended cruising or living aboard. Opposite the galley to starboard is the Navigation station with large chart table, VHF, Battery monitor, tank monitor, electric panel and generator panel. Aft of this is the day access to the aft head. This large head has a separate shower stall that can accommodate tall people. There is also a private access to the head from the aft Stateroom.
- The Aft stateroom has a large queen berth with opening ports and an overhead hatch for ventilation and light. There is also a vanity with Corian top and cedar lined hanging locker.
- Engine access is via the companionway steps that also lead to her large and very spacious cockpit.
