The current line-up of Nautique Boats has been many decades in the making, and it’s taken its most successful models and continued to develop them into the finely tuned, award-winning, and industry-leading ski, wake, and surf boats that they are.
The Super Air Nautique Series forms a core part of the line-up and includes the S21, S23, and S25, as well as the new G21, G23, and G25. The edgy and contemporary-looking G series stands as one of the highest-performing wake boats on the market, with precision control and tournament-level wakes.
Also within the Super Air Nautique Series are the multi-sport models; the GS20, GS22, and GS24, which combine a multi-functioning versatility to the high-performance the brand is known for. By using innovative hull design these models can switch successfully to cater to wakesurfing, wakeboarding, and waterskiing.
For a more purist waterskiing experience, the brand’s classic and long-standing Ski Nautique models honor its heritage and are the culmination of years of fine-tuning and development. In fact, Nautique says the classic “Ski Nautique is the highest performing waterski boat on the planet, setting more world records and personal bests than anything else on the market”.
With such a long history and so many boats built it’s perhaps no surprise that there are many Nautique Boats on the used market offering excellent value for money. These include previous models of the Ski Nautique, which has been a flagship model for the brand for years, as well as the G-Series which launched in 2012.
Nautique Boats is one of the longest-standing brands of tow boats in the United States, with a heritage dating back to the 1920s. It has long been a pioneer of this type of boat and is credited as being the first brand to trailer boats on the highway on a national basis (as opposed to by train), as well as the first brand to use tow pylons way back in 1936. It also made headlines and record books when it was commissioned by General Eisenhower to build 400 boats in 15 days for the war effort.
Nautique Boats has changed and adapted throughout the decades, with different brand names and different focuses on styles of boat in production including cabin cruisers, runabouts, 50-foot-plus yachts and more. However, when owner W.C. Meloon bought the design plans for a fiberglass Ski Nautique in 1961, the brand’s direction truly turned.
The following decades saw Nautique (at this point still known as Correct Craft) become one of the premier waterskiing boats in the US, with winning teams in international events and an ever-growing range. The late 1990s saw the addition of wakeboarding boats as the sport rose in popularity, and it has always kept a finger on the pulse of innovation, ensuring it is ahead of the competition. Developments have included wake control, smart pods, and innovative hulls.
Since the turn of the century, Nautique has added crossovers to its range that have proven hugely popular in the recreational market, and in 2009 it celebrated its 200,000th boat built. In 2011, the brand celebrated 50 years of the Ski Nautique series with the launch of Sport Nautique 200, a serious skiing, wakeboarding, and wakesurfing model. A few years later, the 2019 Ski Nautique—the lightest three-event towboat on the market—was launched to great acclaim.
No introduction to Nautique Boats would be complete without discussing its G-Series Air Nautique range, an edgy, racy, and advanced tow boat that launched in 2012 with the G23 and has had many award-winning models.
The brand is always looking to the future, pushing the boundaries of what its boats can do and offer to a sporting sector that is ever-growing.
Why are Nautique Boats popular?
As one of the most highly respected brands of sports tow boats on the market Nautique Boats build precision ski, wake, and surf boats as well as crossover models. Its long legacy of manufacturing award-winning competition and recreational boats—with over 200,000 having been built to date—makes its boats highly sought after on both the new and used markets.
