Boat Overview

Nimble 36.9 Catamaran, 3 cabin, 1 head. Not an ugly duckling, she's a "Swaen"! The Dutch-built Nimble 36.5 limited edition catamaran was designed by well-known and respected naval architect Alexander Verheus through Alexander Multihull Design. The epoxy resin building material makes her resistant to osmosis and lightweight. The owners sailed her across the Atlantic a few years ago and now enjoy the warm waters of the Caribbean. Circumstances change, and they have decided to sell the boat and take care of personal business rather than leave her on a mooring ball. They are active sailors and take very good care of her to keep her sailing. The cockpit area is massive for a 36.9-foot boat with great visibility from the helm. A single plexiglass entry door leads into the welcoming saloon. This entire area is a settee that seats eight. The owner customized the settee to make it into a full-size bed - perfect for passage making. You can drive the boat in the comfort of the saloon area with 360-degree visibility. The nav station is big enough to roll out an average size chart. The sides of this area are open for ventilation and room feel. The starboard side of the hull midships is the large galley area with privacy and comfort for the chef. The oven and fridge are at eye level - also a nice feature. Aft from there is a cabin with an elevated full-size bed, forward is a twin side cabin. Port side, midships is the workshop area with tons of spare parts and tools. The only head is forward with one full-size cabin aft. This isn't a well-known brand outside of the Netherlands, but it is a very well-built brand with Dutch craftsmanship and quality. DO NOT overlook this catamaran if you are looking for a well-priced boat that is ready to sail and not spend a lot of time and money getting her ready to go. This "Nimble" catamaran lives up to her brand - quick and light! The boat is located in front of our office on a mooring ball. Contact the broker, Chris Rundlett, who is on-island ready to show you the boat or schedule a video walk-through. Chris Rundlett is a former USCG licensed captain with over 30 years of experience sailing from the West Coast, East Coast, around the Med, and all through the Caribbean. As a broker since 2013, he has extensive knowledge of systems, rigging, and build quality. He is the owner of LTD Sailing School and YouTube channel with video walk-throughs of various boats. If you're looking for a boat, Chris can represent you as a buyer's broker at no cost to you.

Owner’s Notes

Swaen is an 11.2 by 6.2 meters catamaran professionally built in the Netherlands. It is made of a very strong and light epoxy composite, weighing only 3.6 tonnes. This justifies her type name: Nimble. She is a compact but still spacious catamaran and because of her size, easy handling. She has three cabins, two double beds 140×200 and one single. In the salon, there is a possibility for another bed. In the head, a toilet and shower. It is a fixed keel cruising catamaran, draught only 0.70 m which makes it very well possible to fall dry and anchor in shallow waters. The first two owners have sailed her mainly in the Netherlands in sweet water and to the Baktic sea. The current owner recently crossed the Atlantic (Cape Verde to Grenada in 15 days including two days of little wind and a detour to avoid bad weather). She had overhauls in 2013 and 2024. In 2013, two new 29 hp Sole compact diesel engines were installed, with only 400 hours on them now. All new Garmin electronics were installed. In 2024, interior upgrade new bimini, Garmin plotter, new emergency tiller, and extra autopilot. Almost new dinghy Lodestar 240. New solar panels, 550 watts total, new Victron charger, new Garmin plotter with maps of Europe and Caribbean. New wind speed and direction indicator, house and starter batteries new, new mainsail. The other sails including 90 m2 genaker in good condition. Two extra stainless steel water tanks and Berkley water filter and general maintenance. Swaen comes with a long list of extras including a full-size toolkit, two Makitas, lots of spares, fully equipped kitchen, central heating, life jackets, bedding, binoculars, torches, generator, new paddle board, fishing gear, weather station, handheld VHF, outside shower, and much more. She is ready to sail. She is designed in such a way that from the steering position all sailing functions can be reached, so ideal for solo sailing and no need to leave the safe steering position. Swaen sails well and has a self-tacking jib.
