This Norwegian yawl, a classic double-ended sailboat with a long keel and semi S-shaped hull, was built in 1945 by the renowned shipyard Dekker & Weinholt in Amsterdam. The ship is constructed from oak on oak frames, a traditional building method that contributes to the robust construction and authentic character of this vessel. With a length of 7.60 meters, a width of 2.45 meters, and a draft of 0.85 meters, this ship is suitable for various inland waters. The clearance height is 11 meters, allowing it to pass under most bridges.
The hull is finished with a two-component lacquer from De IJssel in marine blue, while the deck features a cream-colored anti-slip finish, also in two-component lacquer. The cabin roof is made of teak with a varnished wooden frame. The cockpit is made of mahogany and oak and is clear varnished, contributing to the classic appearance of the ship.
In 2024 and 2025, the ship underwent a thorough renovation. During this process, the hull and deck were coated with epoxy. The mast and boom are made of wood and are clear varnished. The boom is equipped with a roller reefing system, but three reefs can also be set using reef lines and reefing points.
The sail plan consists of a mainsail and two foresails: a genoa and a working jib. The mast can be lowered using a winch on the foredeck, a tabernacle, and a second forestay. The backstay is attached to the mast support on the aft deck. This construction allows the mast to be lowered relatively easily, with the aft side stays providing support. After lowering, the tabernacle remains in place and functions as a railing on the foredeck.
The boat is equipped with a Volvo Penta 2001 diesel engine (14 hp, 1 cylinder, built in 1996). The engine has a new fuel pump, renewed rubber hoses, and a new thermostat in the cooling system. The fuel tank has a capacity of 30 liters and can be filled via a brass filler cap on the aft deck. The fuel supply is made of copper and equipped with a ball valve.
The electrical installation consists of a 12V system with an alternator, battery charger, voltmeter, and an 80 Ah battery. The lighting in the cabin is LED. There is a charging station for mobile devices. All fastenings of the stays and the mast lowering system are made of 10 mm stainless steel eye bolts.
The cabin offers sleeping space for four people. On the port and starboard sides, there are pull-out benches that together form a bed of 180 x 80 cm. In the forepeak, there are two fixed berths. There is space for a chemical toilet (not present) in front of the mast. On the starboard side, there is a two-burner alcohol stove, and on the port side, a stainless steel sink with a foot pump for water supply. Under the forepeak, there is a 120-liter water bag.
The boat is equipped with a manual and an electric bilge pump, with the electric pump activated by a float switch. There is a Danforth anchor with chain and line. The cockpit can be covered with a new tarpaulin bearing the name “Sota.” The cover for the mainsail is used, and the tarpaulin for the cabin and foredeck is functional but will need replacement in the future.
The boat is registered with the Association of Classic Sharp Yachts under number 1231. Various documents are available, including drawings and purchase contracts. The Norwegian yawl has mainly been used for recreational sailing on inland waters.

Boatauction.com was founded in 2005 and has positioned itself as an independent and specialized auction house for boats. Our mission is to provide a transparent and accessible way for both private and business boat owners to sell their vessels. By using our innovative auction platform, users can easily register their boats and participate in the auction processes. This makes the boat market more dynamic and accessible to everyone. Every month, Boatauction.com organizes auctions offering a wide range of boats. From sailboats to motor yachts, from smaller vessels to large commercial ships, our selection is varied and appealing to a broad audience. We also have many collaborations with municipalities, which means we regularly auction boats that have been seized or offered by the municipality. This ensures that there are always surprising and unique offerings on our platform. As an independent nautical auction company, Boatauction.com has sold more than 5,000 boats, both nationally and internationally. It is important to emphasize that the ships we offer are not owned by Boatauction.com, but by the boat owners themselves. These can be both private sellers and companies looking to sell their vessels. We focus not only on pleasure boating but also on commercial shipping and orphaned boats in all shapes, sizes, and budgets. Our new website, launched in early 2025, offers a modern and user-friendly interface. This website is visited daily by thousands of visitors, demonstrating a great interest in our auction concept. We are continuously working on improving the online experience so that both boat buyers and sellers feel comfortable and confident on our platform. Boatauction.com is not only a nationally known platform; thanks to our global network of buyers and sellers, we are also active internationally. This has led to a multilingual website, allowing us to reach a broader audience and make our services accessible to people from different backgrounds and languages. What sets us apart from other auction houses is our focus on water sports and the nautical market. We believe that every boat owner has the right to sell their vessel in a fair and professional manner.
