Accommodations
This Classic Ocean Alexander 50/55 Mark 1 Pilothouse trawler features a 3 stateroom and 2 head arrangement with a beautiful, handcrafted teak interior with a spacious salon, updated galley and large aft cockpit.
Access to the salon from the cockpit is via dual opening salon doors, the salon offers a portside L-shaped settee with teak hi-low table, 2x Stressless leather upholstered chairs, TV entertainment, bar with icemaker and a U-shaped updated on-deck galley.
A few steps up from the salon is the pilothouse. The pilothouse features a center helm station with captains chair, a raise u-shaped cruising settee & table and an off-watch cruising berth, port and starboard side deck access doors as well at a full height flybridge access door.
Access to the owners suite and guest staterooms is via the port side of the pilothouse. The owners suite is located midships under the pilothouse with the two guest staterooms and guest head forward.
The interior is finished in handcrafted satin teak, with exceptional joinery work and detail that is lost in most yacht builders today. The quality of the teak and the condition shows the level of build quality that Ocean Alexander was offering when this vessel was built.

Owners suite
The midships owners suite features a athwartships queen island bed with custom mattress and bedding. The bed has dual teak night tables with drawer storage and and storage drawers are built into the bed pedestal.
The aft stateroom wall is all hanging locker space with a hidden door that leads to the engine room. The forward wall offers large bureau with a banks of drawers and a vanity. Above the bed is a bank of cabinets, a large long shelf and 2X brass opening portlights. The final great feature of this stateroom is the updated ensuite head with stall shower.

Owners suite head
The head was updated with new countertops, sink and Dometic toilet. The head has a bright and open feel, thanks in part to the smart use of teak cabinetry and light colored walls. The heads stall shower is large, offering built-in seat, KCW shower fixture and an opening portlight.

Engines & Mechanical
Power for TYEE is provided by twin Cummins 6BTA5.9 315HP diesel, coupled to ZF transmissions. The original engines were replaced in 1998 and 2001. Other great mechanical features included Naiad stabilizers, Village Tech water maker and a Kabola hydronic diesel furnace. One other notable feature is that this OA50/55 was designed to have a door inside the owners suite hanging locker to the engine room which makes accessing the engine room much easier than the normal aft deck/galley hatches in most of the OA50's.

Comments
TYEE is a great coastal cruising vessel that the current owners have cared for and updated since taking delivery in 2004. It is unique with having the flybridge on top of the pilothouse, which not only gives the helmsperson better visibility from the helm, but also creates a spacious aft bridge deck. This is a yacht worth your time to tour.
Items that will need some attention:
- The foredeck non-skid needs to be painted.
- All of the varnish was refinished in 2023 with the exception of the foredeck cap rail. It is in good condition but did not receive a fresh coat of varnish.
- The flybridge helm does not have a helm cover. It should have a helm console cover.
