DESCRIPTION

The Orkney 24 Pilot House is a super day angler with some accommodation for overnighting if required. 'Bluewater' is well equipped including bow thruster, electric windlass, plotter, radar, fishfinder, heating and twin axle road trailer. She has been well maintained and the engine has recently been serviced including bellows change. Well worth inspection!

Accommodation

Two single berths (converting to a double) in single cabin with two hull ports and blue upholstery. Approx 6'3 headroom. Removable cabin table. Separate heads compartment to starboard with RM69 marine toilet, washbasin and shower. Pressurised hot and cold fresh water system - water heated via engine calorifier. Galley to port with sink and two burner gas cooker (under hinged navigator's seat) and 12v fridge. Helm and navigator's seats in blue PVC. Eberspacher diesel fired central heating system.

Mechanical Systems

Single Volvo Penta D3, 190hp, five cylinder, turbocharged marine diesel engine located in sound proofed box aft end of cockpit. Volvo stern drive with DuoProps. Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger. 70 gallons fuel capacity in stainless steel tank. Single lever engine controls. Trim tabs. Bellows replaced in August 2020 as well as general service. Maximum speed 24 knots. Consumption approx. 4 gph at cruising speed of approx. 10 knots. 355 engine hours as of October 2020.

Two 12V domestic batteries (new 2019) plus engine start battery (new 2020) charging via engine alternator. Mastervolt battery monitor. 12/240v inverter.

Construction

Built by Orkney Boats Ltd in 2006. Royal blue GRP hull with black rubber fender strakes. Coppercoat to underwater hull. White GRP coach roof, cockpit and decks with moulded non slip surfaces. Self draining cockpit. Stainless steel pulpit, forward stanchions, roof and cockpit grab rails. Swimming platform.
