DESCRIPTION

This 2015 one-owner 71’ Outer Reef was overseen and completed by the owner of Outer Reef, originally built as a showboat for display at major boat shows. The list of upgrades and redundant systems is more extensive than any previous 71’ Outer Reef built to date. Current owner building new 86’ Outer Reef.

Walkthrough And Description

Single handed operation is possible with this yachts hydraulic and proportional bow and stern thrusters, and the 2300 gallon fuel capacity allows a range of over 3000 nautical miles with reserve fuel at 9 knots. The accommodation plan features a mid ship king berth master with more hanging locker and cabinet storage than any 71’ yacht in the marketplace, a queen berth VIP forward, a double berth cabin with upper Pullman berth to port, and an aft cabin or crew cabin, with each cabin having an ensuite head and shower. Twin 20 kw Northern lights generators, 7.5 Trac Stabilizers, Chilled Water Air conditioning, water maker, two sets of washers and dryers, work shop,  additional full size freezer, passerelle, twin windlass’s, an inverter system with extensive additional house bank batteries, and stand alone air conditioning systems operational at anchor with no generator running, are just some of many upgraded systems. The spacious aft deck has a custom enlarged teak table and built in seating and  is air conditioned, with wet bar and refrigerator, wing doors, warping windlass’s, and twin staircases to an extended integrated swim platform. Covered side decks also include exterior access to an on deck head. The wide planked teak and wenge trimmed interior flooring  was installed through the entire vessel, and is complemented by extensive use of granite, marble tiles and other unique trim. For ease of owner operation, the full stand up engine room allows excellent access to equipment and systems with fore and aft doors. The Sea Torque enclosed shaft system produces additional fuel efficiency and in combination with additional soundproofing allows the yacht to be whisper quiet underway. The comfortably large salon, adjoining galley and pilothouse, provide completely unobstructed view in all directions, but when desired for night passages or privacy, a panel with a remote control can be raised to separate the salon and galley from the pilothouse. Electronics, and AV systems throughout the yacht were chosen for ultimate performance rather than cost. The flybridge with upgraded Stidd helm chairs  provide substantial seating with tables under a large hardtop, and the hardtop with solar panels above, was specifically designed with an insert that can be removed to allow the electronics mast to be lowered on a hinge to allow travel to the Great Lakes with a maximum height below 21 feet. The boat deck has safety features which includes two six person emergency rafts, a large BBQ grill with twin 20 lb LP tanks, 1700 lb fully hydraulic davit, 13’ tender with 60 hp mounted athwart ships, exterior hatch and full staircase to the aft deck, and sufficient additional area for entertaining and other items such as kayaks or scooters, with more usable deck space than many larger vessels.
