Boat Description

Palmer Johnson 25.60m is an excellent and comfortable Custom sailing yacht, recognized as one of the safer vessels of her kind. Built and launched for a round-the-world voyage, she features a collision bulkhead and five watertight compartments, along with heavily constructed aluminum hatches that can be dogged down. This yacht is capable of sailing over 200 nautical miles per day. With her roller furling rig, she can be easily handled by a crew of two. The dependable and efficient GM 8V71 engine provides a speed of 8-10 knots with a range of 2,500 miles.

The Palmer Johnson 25.60m showcases an elegant timber interior, with many systems either rebuilt or replaced. The layout includes three cabins, with a separate master cabin located aft, providing access to the center cockpit and aft leisure cockpit. The design emphasizes practical layout and ease of sail handling. The high-quality aluminum hull is crafted by the renowned builder Palmer Johnson.

Mast / Rigging / Sails
  • Comprehensive refit in Australia under a previous owner, beginning in 2006 and continuing for several years, reportedly costing in excess of one million Australian Dollars. This included fitting new sections to the hull and extensive fairing, followed by a complete new Burmese Teak interior by local craftsmen in Thailand.
  • 1968: Built and launched for a round-the-world voyage.
  • 1970's to 2000's: Yacht spent nearly 30 years sailing the Caribbean; recognized by many from Tortola.
  • Early 2000's: Yacht traveled from the Caribbean to Australia.
  • 2005: Purchased in Australia by previous owner who undertook the 2006 refit.
  • 2006: Sailed from Australia to Thailand for new teak interior fitout.
  • 2016: Current owner purchased the yacht.
  • 2017: Partial rebuild of the engine in situ, including new pistons, liners, rods, bearings, and fuel injectors.
  • New air conditioning fitted.
  • 2018: New Kohler 17Kw generator installed; prop shaft and rudder bearing replaced; Hundesteadt prop rebuilt; new stuffing box and seals.
  • 2019: New Victron inverter fitted; upgrading of electrical wiring and electronics.
  • 2020: New LiFePo main batteries and 2 x solar panels fitted; new headsail supplied.
