A former naval pinnace with plenty of space on board
Pindaric is an ex-Naval ‘Pinnace’ believed to have been a barge to HMS Warspite which was decommissioned in 1946. Built of double diagonal mahogany on oak she was converted to a motor yacht in 1967 by John Fisher Motor Racing and Marine Ltd. of Portsmouth and upgraded and maintained by H. Attrills & Sons, Bembridge, Isle of Wight from the early 1970s until the late nineteen nineties. Still with some of her original features but now fitted for comfortable long distance cruising. Major deck work was completed in 2000. When HSC last sold the boat in 2013 (survey available) there were originally 8 berths in 4 cabins but the current owners have spent extended periods living on board and converted the inside of the boat to be more usable for two to four people. The boat now has an office area as well as a large galley, separate heads and shower as well as new head linings with ceiling lighting. All gas was removed and the boat completely rewired for the current owner. The galley has a fridge, ceramic hob, combination oven, grill and microwave. They added a top of the range computerised generator and copy of invoice with spec is available. The boat is powered by twin 120hp Sabre diesels+ hours. The draft is 1.64 metres or 5ft which makes most of the Thames navigable. Pindaric is for sale with full overall cover for winter plus summer covers. The Boat Safety Scheme Certificate expires in July 2019 and the EA licence expires on 31.12.2017. Pindaric is available to view in Shepperton by appointment where her mooring is available and paid up until April 2018.
There is a charming small tender restored in 2016 and complete with oars which hangs on davits. The upper deck area is purely designed for dining and sunbathing but could at some stage have a second helm fitted.
Bearing in mind that the vendors have spent £65,000 on improvements to the boat this is a fantastic bargain for the right buyer. The reason for sale is the recent illness of one of the owners hence the requirement for a quick sale and the ensuing price reduction.
The Pindaric Converted Naval Pinnace is 44 feet long and has a 11 feet beam
