DESCRIPTION

Successfully surveyed and her hull newly epoxyed in June 2024, Nooitgedacht is ready to move onboard straight away and is offered for sale with the option to take over her highly desirable and rarely available, fully residential mooring at Poplar Marina next to Canary Wharf (mooring fees available on request).

Nooitgedacht is a classic Dutch Barge houseboat from 1907 whose stunning, luxurious interior has been tastefully designed and professionally fitted to the highest contemporary standards whilst retaining many of her original features from when she was a working barge in the Netherlands.

Her open plan saloon and galley offer an enormous, light, private and calm living space thanks to Nooitgedacht’s beam and her numerous roof windows. Her high quality kitchen is fully equipped and offers great storage and work top space.

Heating is provided by her solid fuel stove in the saloon plus a central heating system powering unusually powerful, four column, radiators throughout.

Forward of the saloon, towards the bow, is the first double bedroom with double bed, lots of storage and separated from the saloon by sliding doors.

Towards the stern is the bathroom which is exceptionally spacious and features clever lighting solutions which our photographs don’t do justice to.

In the stern is possibly the most charming and characterful second double bedroom we have seen to date which could easily become her new owner’s preferred master bedroom. With direct access to the outdoor rear deck area and designed around the curvature of Nooitgedacht’s stern - simply delightful.

The current owner rightly believes we are merely the custodians of such wonderful, classic Dutch Barges and she has invested heavily in commissioning recognised professional marine specialists to upgrade her onboard systems and interior to ensure Nooitgedacht’s new owners enjoy life on board as much as she has.

As previously mentioned, Nooitgedacht was successfully surveyed and newly epoxyed in June 2024 and is arguably the most charming London houseboat we have placed on the market in recent years…and she is ready to move straight onboard.
