SALONA 35 BUILT BY AB BOATS, CROATIA IN 2012
Performance cruiser/ racer designed by J&J Design in association with Jason Ker
CONSTRUCTION
White GRP hull, deck and superstructure
Racing keel optimised by Jason Ker
Twin steering wheels 32"black GFC
Built using vacuum infusion technology, on both hull and deck, making the boat much lighter and also much stronger than conventional building methods
White (isophtalic) gelcoat with black decorative bands
First layers: laminated with isopthalic polyester resin, optimal strength/weight ratio - achieved by using unidirectional, biaxial and triaxial glass fibers
Sandwich construction above water line; core material is PVC (closed cells)
Reinforcements in stainless steel bonded to the hull with structural glue transferring loads from mast and keel
Hull innerliner reinforced with carbon fiber in high stress areas
Structural glued longitudinal
Stress areas on deck (where winches and major deck fittings are fixed) reinforced by replacing PVC core with plywood or aluminum
Deck to Hull joining
Hull and deck are bonded with Methyl-Methacrylate structural glue
The (teak) toe rail is bolted through deck and hull flange
