With just a few years in the industry, Saxdor is making waves with its cutting edge and innovative designs. Saxdor’s founder, Sakari Mattila, is also the brain behind hugely popular brands including Aquador, Paragon, XO Boats, and Axopar.
Saxdor builds boats at its facilities in Finland and Poland, where it employs some 600 experienced craftspeople. Its boats are available globally through a network of more than 100 dealers in 50 different countries.
The focus of the brand is to deliver a new breed of yacht that fulfills the changing needs of the market. As such, its lineup—which currently consists of four ranges and nine models—consists of high-end yachts between 20 and 40 feet. All offer high performance with less fuel consumption, as well as a design that brings comfort and durability, adventure and leisure in one very attractive and sporty-looking package.
Where Saxdor Yachts differ from some competitor brands is in its value for money. It focuses on achieving the highest possible standards at a more attainable price. Yet no corners are cut when it comes to equipment or build quality, and Saxdor yachts come equipped with technology from brands such as Brunswick, Navico, and Simrad; all are fitted with Mercury engines.
Despite being relatively new to the field, Saxdor Yachts has an impressive lineup, with four ranges and nine models currently on offer. Its models range from 20 feet to 40 feet, with a 46-foot model soon due for release.
The 200 Model Line consists of the Saxdor 200 and the Saxdor 205, which are both compact, agile, sporty, and safe day cruisers. They have the distinctive styling of Saxdor (which bears a resemblance to Axopar’s trend-setting look), are both sturdy and agile, and can be equipped to handle a range of activities, including serious fishing. At just 780 kg (excluding the engine), they can be easily towed and have good fuel economy.
The 270 Model Line, which consists of the Saxdor 270 GTO and Saxdor 270 GT, takes things up a notch and offers a highly capable day cruiser. The unique twin-stepped hull creates a soft ride as well as precision handling, and its low weight and good fuel efficiency are thanks to advanced vacuum infusion techniques. They are also the only models in their class that are available with twin Mercury V6 200 hp engines.
The 320 Model Line, which includes the Saxdor 320 GTO, Saxdor 320 GTC, and Saxdor 320 GT, is one of the brand’s best-selling ranges. Its combination of a full-sized cabin, well-equipped galley, on-deck dinette, drop-down deck sides, and impressive performance makes it hugely versatile. Twin Mercury 300 engines allow for top speeds of up to 50 knots, with smooth, comfortable, and dry cruising speeds of 20 to 30 knots. Other features include an extended sun pad on the foredeck, a wet bar behind the helm, and a hard T-top (or in the case of the all-weather GTC, an enclosed pilothouse complete with dinette). As with all of Saxdor’s models, they are highly customizable, with choices of hull and upholstery colors, as well as navigation, technology, and entertainment packages.
The 400 Model Line is the largest in the lineup, although not for long. The Saxdor 400 GTO (the brand’s flagship model) and Saxdor 400 GTC are designed with weekends in mind, with the wheelhouse extending to full beam to maximize interior space. Add to that the drop-down hull sides that create a huge terrace area, a full cabin, spacious galley, two convertible dinette/sunpad areas, and even a grill and wet bar on deck and it’s a hugely versatile, comfortable, yet high-performance boat.
The Saxdor 460 GTC is on the horizon and will be the brand’s largest model.
