Tige Boats was founded by Charlie Pigeon who, through his expertise gained in working for some of the top watersports boat brands in the business, saw an opportunity to push the boundaries. In 1992, he founded Tige Boats and the same year launched its first model, the award-winning 2000SLM. It was to be the first of many award-winners for the brand.

Tige Boats—based in Texas—prides itself on pushing innovation, and this is evident in its numerous industry-leading patents. Probably most significant is its TAPS (Tige Adjustable Performance System) wake-shaping technology, which was launched in 1995 and is today in its third generation.

The company truly put its name on the map in 2000 when it was named the Official Towboat of the IWSF World Wakeboard Championship Series and launched the first worldwide wakeboard tour. Since then, Tige's reputation as one of the premier tow boats has only risen. Yet the brand's success is in the versatility of its boats.
