There are currently just under 30 different models of Tracker Boats for sale, with many previous models still available on the used market. Thanks to their durability and toughness, used Tracker Boats typically offer good value.
The current line-up consists of three broad series—the Mod V Boats, the Deep V Boats, and the Jon Boats. The Jon boat range of the aptly named Grizzly spans 12 models, from the ultra-compact, 10-foot Grizzly 1036 Jon, to the Grizzly 2072 Center Console Sportsman Kicker. At the smallest end of the range, Tracker’s boats are simple, functional, and affordable, with the 1036 starting at just $1,000.
The six models in the Mod V Boats series include the 16-foot Bass Tracker Classic XL, the Pro 170, the Pro Team 175, and the Pro Team 195 TXW (including the Tournament model). All models in the series offer versatility and multi-species angling (crappie, bass, walleye, pike and more), with a huge list of carefully considered angling amenities included as standard.
The Deep V Boats include the Pro Guide range and the Targa range. The Pro Guide range has models from 16 to 17.5 feet offering wide-open cockpit layouts with Deep V performance, lots of storage, movable chairs, and much more. The Targa range differs in that it’s designed more with families in mind, allowing serious anglers to be joined by more passengers. It has features such as cushioned bow seats, a ski tow pylon and two hidden aft jump seats, massive rod storage, and 49 gallons of livewell capacity.
The beginnings of Tracker Boats can be traced back to the late 1970s when Johnny Morris and his father, John A. Morris, founders of the legendary Bass Pro Shops chain, decided to build a full package aluminum fishing boat—the first the industry had ever seen. The Bass Tracker, as it was first known, was well received in the fishing world, and a total package including the boat, trailer, outboard motor, fishfinder, and trolling motor was launched.
Today, Tracker Boats is under the parent company of White River Marine Group, which also has brands such as Ranger Boats, Nitro, Triton Boats, and Tahoe under their umbrella. It is based in the heart of the Ozarks, where it has nine state-of-the-art manufacturing plants. By handling its own manufacturing from beginning to end, as well as its own distribution—in the same way that Tracker Boats has always done—it allows the brand to keep costs down as it essentially cuts out the middleman. Tracker prides itself on being good value-for-money and offering complete packages that are often lower than its competitors.
What makes Tracker Boats unique? The brand has always put an emphasis on dependability and functionality, building bass boats, Jon boats, mod V-hull, and deep-V hull boats that are strong, comfortable, and practical. They’re all-welded hulls, with no rivets or areas that can cause weakness, and the company is so sure of the strength that they come with a lifetime guarantee. All-welded parts include the box-beam transom, hull supports, transverse bulkheads, and side supports. Boats are finished with a multi-layer powder coat that is harder and stronger than liquid paint.
Why Are Tracker Boats Popular?
Tracker Boats build aluminum fishing boats that are renowned in the industry for their sturdiness and strength. They are sold as complete packages, with the boat, trailer, outboard motor, fishfinder, trolling motor, and fishing accessories included. They offer good value for money and are reliable, high performing boats.
What Are the Best Tracker Boats Models to Buy?
Tracker Boats offers a huge range of new and used models, and choosing the best one will depend on your purposes. Its Jon boats are tough and durable, the mod V bass boats are tournament-level, and the deep V boats include models designed for multi-species fishing as well as family-friendly pursuits such as watersports towing.
