Wooden Ships Comments
The 13 ton Hillyard was a design by Dennis Cullingford based on the 12 tonner but with various improvements and increases in space. This boat was the first of the 13 tonners and has a very well documented history, both from her early years and a more recent account of extensive refit work carried out. She has been in the present experienced ownership for 6 years in which time she has had major work done including new keel bolts, engine rebuild, new mast and rigging, recent upholstery and a good inventory of modern equipment.
The Hillyards offer a 'lot of boat' for the length with a large deep and safe centre cockpit, aft and forward sleeping cabins and a large communal saloon all with ample headroom and good length berths. This boat has the solid canopy over the cockpit which gives excellent shelter from the elements and with a canvas back to it the cockpit becomes completely enclosed and weather proof.
A smart and very well found yacht ready to sail this season. 2016 survey available.
