Typical of the English Folkboats which took the successful and celebrated Scandinavian hull design but increased the interior volume by adding a higher coachroof and a small dog house. This is a smart example with laid teak decks and lots of varnished mahogany. She has been well cared for in the present ownership with lots of professional work done in recent years. She has recently had a spring refit including antifoul and engine service and is afloat and ready for the season. Construction, Hull, Planked in 3/4″ Mahogany all copper rivet fastened to steamed oak and CRE timbers. Bronze screwed hood ends. Grown oak floors with galvanised steel keel bolts though the middle of the floors. External iron ballast keel. Decks and cockpit, Yacht laid teak deck over a marine plywood sub deck. Scrubbed teak coverboards with a toe rail set slightly inboard. Toe rails and coverboards as well as some sections of the sheer strake all new in 2014. stainless pushpit, pullpit and stanchions all round. Non self draining cockpit with thwarts either side and a raised bridge deck forward. tiller steering on a transom hung rudder. Superstructure, Varnished mahogany coachroof coamings with a raised dog house aft to increase headroom below. Bronze framed portholes and dog house windows. Laid teak coachroof deck on a plywood sub deck. Varnished handrails, sliding hatch and fore hatch. Rig, Typical Folkboat rig with a 3/4 fractional bermudan sloop on deck stepped alloy mast. Alloy slab reefing boom and spinnaker pole. 1×19 stainless steel standing rigging to bronze rigging screws and internal chain plates. Twin lower shrouds, single cap shroud with jumper struts. single backstay with rope tensioner. Single forestay with Furlex 100S roller reefing system fitted. Sails, Mainsail, Genoa, Storm jib, Spinnaker. Winches, Two pairs of non self tailing sheet winches on the cockpit coamings with cleats for securing the tails. Machinery, Engine, Yanmar 1GM10 single cylinder marine diesel. Centreline stainless steel shaft to a fixed 3 blade bronze propeller. Cruising speed 4 knots, 5 knots max. Tanks, 20l Vetus plastic fuel tank in the starboard cockpit locker. Batteries, Single 12v battery charged from the engine alternator, Accommodation, Berths, 4 berths including 2 saloon settee berths and a double forward. Saloon finished mainly in varnished mahogany with a small chart area and galley in the aft corners. Galley has a 2 burner meths stove. Saloon settee berths either side with a small passageway going forward to the fore peak. Storage space up forward with a Jabsco manual sea toilet which pumps directly overboard. Scrubbed teak sole boards throughout.
