The Valiant 42 SILVER LINING represents a rare opportunity to have a one owner boat that has seen only seasonal use since new. The boat was highly customized when built and includes many options. Stored covered in winter months with the rig stored indoors the boat shows as a much younger vessel. This Robert Perry design has proven to be easily handled by a crew of two in all conditions. The cutter rig performs well at all points of sale and will get you to your destinations quickly and safely. Just launched for the season after its annual bottom paint and commissioning, SILVER LINING is ready to go at a moments notice. Additional pictures and build specifications available on request.
SILVER LINING has the preferred center entry companionway layout with a queen berth forward stateroom. Entering from the cockpit down wide tread stairs there is a double quarter berth cabin to port and head to starboard. Continuing forward the galley is to port with navigation station to starboard. Forward from there is the main salon followed by the queen berth stateroom.
The interior is cherry wood with teak and holly soles throughout. Reverse cycle air conditioning and heat.
The prefered queen berth design with abundant storage. Additionally:
The light and roomy salon has a large L-shaped settee to port with a center line dining table. There is another settee to starboard. Additionally:
Located to starboard of the galley the navigation station has a large chart table with storage under and a comfortable forward facing bench seat. Outboard and above the chart table are two added shelves. Just forward of the chart table is a cherry panel with navigation electronics.
The large U-shaped galley is on the port side and has large counter spaces and abundant storage. Additionally:
The quarter berth cabin is entered through a bi-fold door at the base of the companionway stairs. Additionally:
Located to starboard aft, the head has a large vanity with sink and a stall shower. Additionally:
The Valiant 42 has a custom tapered, double spreader aluminum mast with rod rigging set up as a cutter rig. The rig has been pulled and stored indoors every winter. It is inspected and re-rig by an experienced boatyard each season. Sheets, furling lines and main halyard lead aft to cockpit for easy sail handling.

The Valiant hull is a solid fiberglass made with 100% isophthalic resin. The Perry design is a modified keel with a large skeg hung rudder so it is easily handled even in the worst conditions. The topsides are painted with Imron red with a white boot top. The non skid decks are painted with AwlGrip pearl gray. There is 1/2" closed cell foam added to the inside of hull from waterline to prevent condensation for sound insulation. Additionally:
The aft cockpit on the Valiant 42 gives you a great sense of safety and protection from the elements while allowing good visibility and easy access to all the sheets and sail controls. The Edson steering pedestal has a large destroyer type wheel that makes boat control simple from all sides. Additionally:
The 2014 9' AB hard bottom inflatable dinghy is carried on stainless davits off the stern for easy deployment.
