The interior fit out of the Vancouver 34 Classic is to a very high standard of craftsmanship and she has a rich homely feel. The Teak furniture with Teak and Holly striped floor give a real sense of warmth which is enhanced by the Eberspacher D4LC 6kw diesel fired warm air heating with day timer control and thermostat (new 2007). It has pressurized hot and cold water system to the Galley and Heads. The upholstery is in good condition.
FORECABIN
The Forecabin has a V berth with storage under. There is a V-seat which doubles for the infill to create a double berth. There is a vanity unit to starboard. To port is a large hanging locker. The Hull side shelves provide additional storage. Side coachroof windows. Deck hatch for additional light, ventilation and emergency escape.
HEADS
It has a moulded sink with pressurized hot and cold water via mixer tap which extends to act as a shower. Mirror and cup holder. Manual fresh water pump. Shelf storage outboard and cupboard underneath. It has a Jabsco manual flush marine toilet. There is a cover for the toilet to keep it dry when showering and act as a seat. Holding tank with shut/flow handle. Shower tray with a duck board grate and sump with electric pump.
SALOON
To port is a single settee berth with lee cloth. Storage outboard in lockers and open shelving. Large locker forward with shelf. Large cabinet aft with two door fronted lockers and shelves. To starboard is a U shaped seating area with central lee cloth. There is an infill section to create a double berth when required. The saloon upholstery was new in 2014. There is significant storage under and behind the saloon berths. A radio/CD player is fitted in the saloon.
GALLEY
The galley is to port with ample work surface and deep storage. It has a Eno 2 burner gas cooker with grill and oven. There is a crash bar for safety and the cooker is on gimbals. The cooker has a removable worktop which provides additional food preparation area. It has two stainless steel sinks with pressurized hot and cold water via a mixer tap. Additional manual fresh water pump. There is also an additional freshwater drinking tap with a Seagull filter.
WETLOCKER
There is a purpose built wet storage locker which can accommodate oilies and sea boots.
NAVIGATION STATION / QUARTER BERTH
Large forward facing chart table with internal chart storage and cupboard in pedestal. Instrumentation and ships electrical distribution panel. Vinyl seat cushion. Integrated refrigerated cool box in the seat. Outboard along the side of the quarter berth are shelf lockers.
COCKPIT
The vessel has a reasonably large, but safe feeling cockpit for the size of the yacht with wheel steering. There are also ample lockers for storage of fenders and warps etc. There is a designated gas locker with 2 Gas bottles and regulator. There is also a stainless steel gantry on the pushpit with a solar panel, wind turbine and outboard crane plus antennas. There are also three made to measure cockpit cushions.
The hull and deck are generously laid-up by hand using bi-directional mat with Isophthalic resin (better resistance against osmosis) and substantially reinforced all around her long, encapsulated keel, the foot of which extends aft to provide support for the lower rudder pintle.
This design helps keep ropes and debris away from the prop, while a cutaway forward helps speed up tacking and improve manoeuvrability under power. The topsides and deck of the Vancouver 34 Classic are sandwiched with end-grain balsa for insulation and weight reduction, and the hull deck join is both through-bolted and bonded over for watertight integrity. Deck has beige Treadmaster that was professionally replaced in 2013, by Foxes Boatyard. The yacht has been cruised extensively in Western Europe and the Canary Islands which is why she has been well maintained and updated over the years.
This yacht has been owned by the current owner for the past 12 years. It has had only two previous owners. The current owner is only selling as it's time to retire from sailing. The vessel was last ashore for its annual maintenance in May 2023 when she was antifouled, hull polished and anodes changed.
