Beautifully appointed cruising yacht that is equally at home cruising with family or romping round the cans on a weekend. You will have many happy a day showing larger and more costly vessels a clean pair of heels especially when the going gets tough. This one owner boat was professionally moulded but fitted out over a 4-year period by her present owner. This has been done, in my opinion to a better than professional standard and those who have had production yachts in the past will appreciate this.
Extensively cruised by her owners over the last 10 years including trips around Britain, to the Channel islands, the Atlantic coast of France, Holland, Sweden and Denmark as well as trips to the Baltic states and Russia.
"Lady Hamilton" is now looking for a new custodian with whom to create new adventures and memories.
Vessel is powered by an economical and reliable, inboard Volvo Penta MD2002B. This 18hp unit is fitted with Volvo S120 saildrive unit fitted with a bronze 2-bladed folding propeller to minimise drag when sailing. The leg is fitted with a line cutter to limit possibilities of being fouled. Saildrive seal replaced in 2022.
Single lever engine control in cockpit with forward and reverse function. Engine start panel with visual and audible alarms for oil pressure, water temperature and charging. Engine has completed 2500 logged hours of reliable service. The engine was serviced in 2022 prior to start of season and has been winterised in November 2022.
Over the years she has had regular maintenance. Recent work includes the afore mentioned saildrive diaphragm seal along with the shaft seals. There was a new lift pump replaced in 2022, starter motor replaced in 2019 and new injector tips in 2016.
Bank of 3x12V batteries of 80amph each. These are fitted with isolators and recharged via the engine alternator or the onboard charger when attached to shore power. Inverter fitted next to chart table.
Sloop rigged yacht with deck stepped aluminium spars. Stainless steel standing rigging replaced in 2010 but re-certified in 2018. Braid on Braid running rigging led back to helm. Furlex roller furling head sail system and slab reefing mainsail system makes short handed sailing a dream. Lewmar halyard winches mounted either side of the companionway. The halyards are led aft via a series of turning blocks and deck organisers. Lewmar ST sheet winches mounted on the cockpit coamings within easy reach of helm.
Well equipped yacht suitable for coastal cruising. The following are included in the sale.

Below decks is very spacious with full standing headroom in all the important places. There are also numerous hand holds which makes moving around below decks during inclement conditions very safe indeed. Those of you familiar with the traditional layout will be delighted with the revamped interior. The heads is now aft and in a more practical location. No more traipsing through the saloon in wet weather gear. The added impact is that the forward cabin is huge and more in keeping with a much larger yacht. The galley is linear making the space feel more modern. Being mid ships the storage offered is more practical and in keeping with long range cruising. The quarter berth is now more easily accessed than the predecessor thanks to the folding chart table at which you can now stand.
Heads Compartment - Jabsco Marine toilet with twist'n'lock manual flush and Blakes sea cocks. Toilet was completely overhauled in 2018 including new sanitary hoses. Moulded sink unit with storage behind and below. Hot and cold mixer tap with pull out shower. Wet locker.
Chart Table - Folding chart table with chart reading light, 12/240V switch panel with rocker switch selectors and gauges showing battery voltage and amperage.
Galley - Linear galley on starboard side featuring a gas fuelled Neptune 2000 oven with 2-burner hob and separate grill. Stainless steel sink unit with hot & cold pressurised water via a mixer tap. Top loading fridge with external temperature controls. Numerous deep storage cupboards above and below the work tops.
Saloon - Large U-shaped seating area to port with central table. The table drops down to make a huge double berth or can be used as a large single on occasions. Excellent storage below the settees. The upholstery in the saloon is oatmeal coloured soft velour in excellent condition. The fabrics, combined with the light teak veneer and trim, gives the boat a lighter feel.
Forepeak - Spacious cabin with V-berth converting to a comfortable double with the addition of an infill cushion. Excellent headroom, opening hatch for light and ventilation and a hanging locker.
Overall the condition below decks is warm, welcoming and has a homely atmosphere. This will be a pleasant place to while away the evenings in port or on passage between watches.
GRP constructed yacht with Awlgrip coated blue topsides in exceptional condition. Smart gold coveline and waterline striping complements the stunning navy blue. Encapsulated swept back fin keel and counter hung rudder with protective skeg. Ballast is lead shot encapsulated in resin. This creates a lower centre of gravity and in turn creates a deeper bilge. Underwater areas have been epoxied as a preventative measure using the International 2-pack system. White antifouling normally added just prior to launch in the Spring when the topsides will generally have a polish. Those coming to view will be forgiven for thinking this has already been done, such is the condition of the topsides.ed and the yacht looks in good order.
Deep cockpit with cavernous sail locker to port, gas locker at transom and general purpose, handy locker to starboard. Locker tops and cockpit sole are finished in attractive "Flexi-Teak" which minimises annual maintenance are are easy to keep clean.
Stainless steel bathing ladder attached to transom. Moving forward is safe and easy thanks to the handily places grab handles on the coachroof. Stainless steel bow and stern rails give security to those moving around the decks. Moulded non slip panels on the side decks and coachroof further increase the level of safety. Large self bailing anchor well with ground tackle.
History
The Verl 900 was designed as a cruiser/racer in 1974 by Robert Clark who also designed numerous other fine yachts including Gipsy Moth III for Sir Francis Chichester and British Steel for Chay Blyth.
They were originally built by Verlvale Ltd (aka Verl Yachts and Verl Mouldings) of Melbourn near Royston Hertfordshire and then for a couple of years by a boat yard in Tollesbury Essex. The moulds then passed to The Humber Boat Company, who built "Lady Hamilton"
