Viking Yachts is one of the leading brands of luxury, semi-custom sportfishing and cruising yachts, headquartered in New Gretna, New Jersey, in the United States. It was founded in 1964 and for over 60 years has produced in excess of 5,000 vessels. Search for new and used Viking Boats for sale in your region, and narrow down your search by price, model, features, or length.
Over the decades the brand has evolved into one of the premier builders of luxury, semi-custom fiberglass sportfishing, and cruising yachts. It has a sound reputation for exceptional build quality, customer care, and high-end finishes. Its domestic and international dealer network has made Viking a world leader in the marine industry. Its lineup of luxury performance sportfishing and cruising yachts ranges from 37 to 93 feet.
One of the factors making Viking Yachts stand out is its dedication to producing as many of its vessels as possible in-house. Over 90% of the yachts are built by Viking’s team of experienced craftspeople. Components such as engines, transmissions, pumps, air conditioning units, electronics, and entertainment systems are not produced in-house; these are sourced from the world’s leading manufacturers.
Viking was one of the first brands to adopt the American Boat & Yacht Council's (ABYC) standards and the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) recommendations. Among many awards and accolades over the years, Viking has received CIGNA Recreational Marine's prestigious Award of Excellence.
The Viking Yachts brand has grown to incorporate not just its yacht building sector but several other brands under the umbrella company Viking Marine Group. These include Palm Beach Towers, which produces fiberglass hardtops, rod lockers, and other custom aluminum and fiberglass accessories, and Atlantic Marine Electronics, which installs and services navigation, communication, and entertainment systems. Also within the group is The Viking Yachting Center in New Gretna, New Jersey, a full-service marina with 250 slips for boats up to 50 feet. It is located next to the Viking Yachts manufacturing facility and includes a service center. Last is Valhalla Boat Sales, which has two locations in New Jersey and one in Florida that are authorized dealers for Valhalla Boatworks, Contender and Sportsman Boats.
Over the decades Viking Yachts has honed and perfected its lineup, building off the successes of its previous models and maintaining a strong forward-thinking approach to improving each and every part of its vessels. The result is a current lineup of five ranges consisting of 30 models.
The largest range is the Open Bridge series, with 12 models from 44 feet to 90 feet that epitomize the brand’s style. These have been the backbone of the fleet for two decades. The range of semi-custom, convertible sportfishing models is sleek and elegant yet packed with serious sportfishing accessories and features. Richly designed, spacious interiors feature as many as three cabins and two heads, even on the smallest models. At the top end of the size range, models such as the 82C and 90C stand as the largest cruising sportfish models in the industry, with five staterooms.
The Billfish series consists of the 38BF, the 380, and the 46BF models. Viking Yachts describes this range as “ready-to-go fishing machines equipped for inshore and offshore missions as well as being versatile cruising boats with reliable inboard diesel power.”
The Open Series of three models—the 440, 480, and 540—brings the breadth of the beam farther forward than the Convertibles, allowing for more interior volume, a wider cockpit, and more running surface. The 48 Open is also available as the 48 Sport Tower and 48 Sport Coupe, as is the new 54 Open, 54 Sport Coupe, and 54 Sport Tower, offering new and contemporary profiles to this popular model.
The Enclosed Bridge series features seven large models ranging from the 68EB to the 90SB. These are exceptionally high performance, tournament-level sportfishing yachts that offer the luxury and amenities of a small superyacht. This unique combination is what sets Viking apart, and this range is the perfect example of the marriage between precision angling and luxury cruising. They are available as Enclosed Bridge models or, in the case of the 90SB, Sky Bridge models.
The Sports Yacht series of six models completes the current lineup, and ranges from the 44SC to the 54SC. As the name implies, they’re sleek and sporty, and most models are available as a Sport Coupe or a Sport Tower.
We hear questions like “What’s the cost of a yacht?” on a regular basis, and it’s a difficult to ...
