A clean engine room with a 36 hp Farymann.Originally the type was developed by the shipbuilder Kroese in Vollenhove, who was looking for something for his customers that was halfway between the visaken as used on the inland waters around this Zuiderzee town and the somewhat larger botters and the then "new" Lemsteraken that sailed the outside waters.
