Owners' comments
We bought the yacht from its original owner in 2009 and have used it annually for 6 weeks holiday in Spring and another 6 weeks holiday in Autumn. In January 2012, 14 years of antifouling was professionally removed, the hull allowed to fully dry over the winter and with a moisture content of less than 1% (except the rudder) was professionally treated with 7 coats of International epoxy.
Airwaves is a well sorted midsized sturdy cruising yacht, ideal for a couple to handle and, with 2 heads, comfortable and convenient for up to 6 people. She has many extras and fully equipped for the Mediterranean. Airwaves was one of the last Westerly boats built and was on the stand at the London Boat Show at Earls Court in January 1998 when she was purchased by the first owner. She was commissioned later that year and sailed to the Eastern Mediterranean.
The Oceanquest has a reputation for strength, safety, spacious accommodation, and great sailing performance (particularly with a feathering prop). The controls are led back to the cockpit which is deep and safe, and the aft cockpit is ideal for stern-to Mediterranean mooring.
