Williams Jet Tenders is a British brand of tenders officially founded in 2004 by brothers Mathew and John Hornsby and Roy Parker. The brothers had been making elegant wooden inboard runabouts from their shed for many years, building up their reputation until the official launch of the Williams brand. They still run Williams to this day.
Even before the official launch of the brand, over 100 Ski Ribs had been produced in just two years, with the Fairline Targa 43 being the first of these fast and agile tenders. Williams Performance Tenders, as it was known then, began with the TurboJet 325 in 2005, marking a major milestone for the brand in its move to jet tenders.
In a short space of time, production of Turbo Jets rose to 900 per year, with more models added to the lineup.
The SportJet range launched in 2013 following collaboration with engine manufacturer BRP, with the MiniJet range launching the 2016—some of the smallest inboard, center console RIBs in the industry designed for yachts between 38 and 45 feet.
In 2019 the brand launched the EvoJet, a range of larger luxury tenders designed to suit the growing number of superyachts over 120 feet. By 2021 Williams Jet Tenders had made over 10,000 boats.
Today’s Williams Jet Tender lineup has come a long way from humble beginnings and offers six ranges consisting of nearly 20 models that have built on the successes of previous generations.
The SportJet series of five models ranges from the compact 345 to the larger 520. These sporty tenders are designed to suit yachts of specific sizes and feature swim/boarding platforms, center consoles, and the signature inboard engines of all Williams models. Other features include luxury teak inlays, bimini tops, LED lights, and tow sports accessories. The 520 comes equipped with a 230 hp Rotax engine and can reach speeds of 56 mph.
The DieselJet range also features five models and has been designed for both comfort and practicality. Slash-cut tubes provide a comfortable ride as well as a sleek appearance, and there is ample seating for multiple passengers.
The TurboJet range includes the 285, 285LP, and 325 models of compact, luxury tenders. With high performance and good fuel efficiency, they are practical as well as comfortable and can accommodate up to four passengers with all of their belongings. The TurboJet was one of the ranges that put Williams on the map, and the company ensures this range remains an iconic part of the brand. The smallest model in the current lineup is the MiniJet 280, a lightweight, agile, responsive inboard tender suited to any size yacht.
At the other end of the size scale is the brand’s largest model, the EvoJet 70 and EvoJet 70e electric version. These feature a wide beam, elegant design, high performance, ultra-modern helm, and the company’s industry-leading jet propulsion system. The electric version is a new foray into more sustainable solutions for Williams.
Mention must also be made of the brand’s Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) models, which combine the luxury and performance of all its other models with the added confidence of SOLAS safety requirements and bright hull color.
