This self-built Huitema zeeschouw was constructed in 1978 and is powered by a Farryman diesel engine with 30 HP. It is a versatile vessel suitable for a large sailing area, including the Frisian canals and lakes, making it ideal for those with limited flat bottom experience. It is also seaworthy for the IJsselmeer and the Wadden Sea, making it a perfect vacation ship.

Refit Details

The scow underwent a significant refit during the winter of 2023. The engine was removed, and all components in the engine room were inspected and painted. The exterior was completely repainted, and all spars were stripped and repainted. In 2023, the vessel received a new mainsail and jib, complete with a lazyback hood and a furling system for the jib. A new anchor winch was installed, and the diesel engine was completely overhauled. In 2024, the interior hull was de-rusted and treated with a 2-component system, all outboard cranes were renewed, the interior was repainted and varnished, and a VHF radio system was installed.

Rental Information

The Dolle Dries has been successfully rented out by Platbodem verhuur Friesland since 2006. There is already rental scheduled for 2025, and you can continue to keep the Dolle Dries in rental, making it a potential investment with a good return.
