1962 45' Buchanan 'Noryema II', built by William King of Burnham on Crouch - sold as an ongoing project with new Volvo Penta D2 50hp engine ready for installation and refurbished Blakes toilet. Currently stored in a shed ready for work to commence, 'Noryema II' was recovered from Cornwall in 2019 where she had spent 25 years in a polytunnel. A 2017 survey, available on request, summarised the boat as showing few signs of advanced decay, quite remarkable given her situation at that time. Now ready for works to be completed on her restoration, which includes the replacement of the bolts on the hull straps and the keel bolts. Ideal project for someone knowledgeable who will enjoy the restoration process and then enjoy sailing a beautiful classic yacht when complete. On the National Historic Ships Register under 'Noryema II'.
'Noryema II' was built to Lloyds A1 standard for Ron Amey in 1961/62 by Williams King and Sons of Burnham on Crouch.
The boat was used in a sailing school for a period, before being sold to the current vendor's father, and was renamed 'Rosheeba' in 1965. Inshe was in her third ownership and known as 'Tiree III of Bosham', and inshe was know as Bequila.
The current owner bought his Father's old boat in 2019, and although the boat had been known as 'Rosheeba' during his family's ownership, he decided to return the name to the original 'Noryema II' (the original owner, Ron Amey's name backwards). Sadly, he now finds himself unable to finish the project of restoring the boat himself and would love to see this wonderful boat back to her best and enjoying adventures with a new family, just like the ones he remembers from his childhood.
