Manufactured in 1994, the boat is in immaculate condition thanks to a meticulous owner who has held it for over 20 years, coupled with a significant refit. Standing rigging, cutlass bearing, and rope cutter are all new additions, with the electrical system updated and gas system thoroughly examined. The boat's internal woodwork has been refreshed with a strip and re-varnish job, while in 2023 the hull was stripped and re-epoxied. In March 2024, the boat underwent a polish, anti-fouling and received new anodes. The Catalina 30 MK III offers surprisingly spacious interiors for a boat of its size, featuring seven berths, large galley, separate heads and navigation station, as well as a comfortable saloon. Further enhancing stability underwater, the boat features a lead winged keel. It also boasts a GPS, Autohelm, VHF, and Warm Air Diesel cabin heating. Builders Comments
'The Catalina 30 MARK III has been redefined by incorporating some of the best modern features of our popular C-270 and C-320 designs. The transom and cockpit areas reflect the most significant refinements. The new stern section is now dramatically wider at the deck and curves gracefully to form a very functional and spacious boarding platform. The already famous C-30 cockpit is now even more comfortable than ever with wider coamings for outboard seating and new observation seats built into the stern rail. Low maintenance materials have been used extensively to give you more time to enjoy your C-30 . New stainless steel traveller supports improve visibility and reduce friction on halyards.
The Catalina 30 MARK III shares the under body and rig of earlier Catalina 30's and is eligible to participate in Catalina one design events and class association activities.
Below deck, the layout that defined a modern classic has remained true to its heritage, but has become even more comfortable and functional with the addition of several thoughtful improvements and subtle refinements.
The galley has been made even larger with the design of the new custom countertop surfaces. With the larger counter space has come increases in size and number of cupboards and drawers. An all new dish and cup storage rack better organizes often used items.
The bright new head also makes use of custom counters and large cabinets.
Varnished teak cabin surfaces are accented by polished brass light fixtures. Natural light has been increased through the addition of 3 fixed ports in the hull.'
Brokers CommentsThis Catalina 30 MK III cruising yacht is in great condition for her age & has the feel and appearance of a solid well constructed boat. Its current Owner of 20 years has clearly loved and maintained it, having spent thousands on recent works which will be a huge benefit to her next Custodian. Although only 30 feet in length, she feels she has the space and accommodation of a boat much larger. She offers a light bright & spacious cabin with good headroom throughout, 7 berths & many home comforts including hot & Cold pressurised water, fitted cabin heating & a surprisingly useful galley. In addition, she is wired for shore power & even has a hot & cold shower in the cockpit. Her saloon provides an abundance of space along with a very useful navigation station with VHF & GPS all close at hand. On deck, she has a generous, safe cockpit & wheel steering with all lines led to the cockpit. Having last year had her hull sandblasted & this year just had new anti-foul and anodes applied, as well as a full engine service, she is ready for the season ahead. Having been professionally maintained over the years, this is probably the best example of a Catalina 30 on the market and a very special boat indeed.
Fitted with a lead winged keel, this Catalina 30 sails well & is easy to handle. She is an excellent, safe & reliable boat which is both fun to sail & comfortable to live on-board. She is ideal for family sailing around coastal waters whilst still being very capable of cruising further afield. With over 6,500 of the marque built in the USA, there are many examples of this great boat still sailing around the world. She is currently lying in Southampton & viewing can be arranged through Aspire Boat Sales.
