About the Fisher 30

The Fisher 30 was designed in 1971 by Wyatt & Freeman. It was the first Fisher model built for Fairways Marine, with hulls fitted out by various contract builders before Northshore took over in 1981. The model gained popularity despite being expensive for its size, with nearly three hundred units built between 1971 and 1987.

With a long keel, heavy displacement, and deep bulwarks, the Fisher 30 provides a steady motion at sea. The hull design is reminiscent of wooden Miller Fifers, which are derived from North Sea fishing boats and Norwegian Colin Archer 'redningskoite' sailing lifeboats. While windward performance may not be its strength, a powerful engine with a large propeller compensates for this.

Accommodation Layout

The wheelhouse features an enclosed steering position and seating. The saloon includes L-shaped seating to port and a single berth to starboard, with a large chart table above. The galley is located forward to starboard, equipped with a 2-burner cooker with grill and oven, sink, freezer, and ample storage. The saloon table can be removed or lowered to create a double berth.
