DESCRIPTION

Forgus yachts were built on the island of Orust alongside other well known Swedish boatbuilders, Hallberg Rassy, Malo and Najad. Built to the highest standard, the Forgus 37 is a well-proven centre cockpit offshore cruiser with good performance and a layout suitable for extended living aboard. This excellent example has been well looked after and is presented in very good condition.

Accommodation

The layout offers up to six berths with two double sleeping cabins separate from the main accommodation. In the forecabin, V berth with infill and stowage under. Opening hatch to foredeck. Two hanging lockers. In saloon, dinette to port with settee berth opposite. The seat back of this berth lifts up to reveal a wider berth and provide daytime bedding stowage. Fixed table with drop leaves. Opening hatch to deck. Chart table to starboard with L shaped galley opposite. Two burner gimballed ENO gas cooker with oven. Twin stainless steel sinks with hot and cold pressurised water system (engine and immersion heating). 300 litre freshwater capacity in two tanks. Refrigerator with keel cooling. Separate heads compartment to starboard with marine WC (with 70 litre holding tank), shower and wash basin. Walk through to aft cabin with access to port side of engine. Good sized double berth to starboard with occasional seat opposite. Hanging locker. Opening hatch to deck. Webasto diesel fired hot air central heating. Radio/CD player. Grey/blue upholstery (2017).

Mechanical Systems

Located in acoustically insulated space below the cockpit. 1996, Volvo Penta MD22L marine diesel engine. Four cylinders. 48hp. Fresh water cooled. Shaft drive to fixed three bladed propeller. Single lever engine controls. 210 litre fuel capacity in stainless steel tank, giving a range of some 250/300nm at 6 knots cruising speed. There is good access to the engine either at the front or via the access hatch in the walk-through. The vendor estimates that the engine has completed some 2,700 hours and it is due its next service. The engine is serviced by her owner annually.

Construction

Built in 1996 by Forgus Yachts to a design by Hugo Samuelsson. White GRP hull with dark sheer stripe. Rubbing strakes. Alloy toe rail. White GRP superstructure with teak laid deck. Centre self draining cockpit. Skeg hung rudder. Wheel steering. Fin keel with lead ballast. Sugar scoop transom with bathing platform.

March 2022 the underwater section of the hull was shot blasted, keel faired, all epoxy coated then Coppercoat applied. Professionally done by Suffolk Yacht Harbour with coating warranty.

Two owners from new, she has been in her current ownership for 15 years.
