Activities to Do with Highfield Boats
Highfield Boats builds a large range of RIBs (rigid inflatable boats), and since the company’s founding in 2011 has really made waves within what is a competitive sector. In total, iit has built more than 50,000 boats, making it one of the top-selling aluminum-hulled RIB brands in the world, notably in the sector of RIBs 16 feet or larger.
The European-managed brand has its production facility in China, with offices in Europe and the United States, and 48 distributor countries. Its range of RIBs spans 6-foot tenders all the way up to 29-foot patrol boat vessels, with durability, seaworthiness, and robustness as their core values. Highfield’s boats are designed to withstand even the roughest of seas and are frequently bought as support vessel fleets 50 strong for events such as the Pan Am Games, the Vendee Globe, the Invictus Games, and The Extreme Sailing Series.
While Highfield’s boats are popular with commercial buyers, the company also designs and builds recreational RIBs that are bought as tenders, day cruisers, family boats, or for watersports. Combined with their signature (easily recyclable) aluminum hull, Highfield’s boats are not only durable but also place an emphasis on sustainability. They offer a dry, safe ride, as well as high performance thanks to their Honda outboard engines. And when it comes to sustainability, Highfield Boats uses powder coating for their aluminum hulls without volatile organic compounds or solvents, and can be applied using low temperatures which saves energy.
Model Ranges / Models of Highfield Boats
With over 40 models across five ranges, Highfield Boats has plenty to choose from, whether you’re looking to buy brand new or on the used market. At their most compact are the Roll Up Series, with five models ranging from the ultra-compact RU200 (6' 7" feet) to the RU320 (10' 6" feet). These are ideal as tough yet lightweight ship-to-shore tenders for sailboats and motorboats, allowing for rowing or the addition of a modest engine. Despite their size, these economically priced boats can seat up to 5 passengers in the larger models.
Another compact range is the Ultra Lite Series; as the name implies, these are RIBs that are lightweight and can be easily transported (even on a car roof) and launched solo. Their aluminum hulls are strong yet offer the chance to have a rigid-hulled boat where a soft hull might have been the only option before.
Moving into larger models is the Classic Series, with its versatile RIBs, which are popular for cruising or beach trips. They are crafted from 1/10th inch thick powder coated marine grade aluminum, with tubes made from 1100 dtex coated fabric. They are available in lengths from the CL260 (8' 6" feet) to the CL460 (15' 1" feet), and in several different colors. Add soft top Biminis and various engine options to customize.
At the large end of Highfield’s size scale are the tough Sport and Patrol series, which range in size from a compact 9' 10" feet to a serious 28' 6" feet. The Sport Series offers a fun yet highly durable range of boats that can be anything from a mini tender or runabout, to an offshore cruiser. Standard features include powder coating on the aluminum hull, teak decks, towing eyes, self-draining deck, and hydraulic steering.
The Patrol Series is a popular commercial range, offering serious workhorse boats that can withstand even the roughest conditions. Yet they make ideal long distance family cruisers, too, with plenty of comfortable seating and adaptable seating based on individual needs.
