DESCRIPTION

“Hopes & Dreams” is the perfect and simple performance cruiser for day sails, short weekend getaways or the cruise of a lifetime. She is a Maine Cat 33; a customized version of the famed Maine Cat 30 designed and built by Dick Vermeulen. Her original owner worked on her custom design with Dick Vermeulen, who lengthened the hull mold by 3 feet to accommodate a pair of 15 hp Yanmar diesel engines and a 3 ft longer boom.

The longer boom and over strengthened rigging, give her a much larger sail plan; larger main and three foresails for different wind conditions. This sail plan allows her to sail in the 10kt range without difficulty and in comfort.

Hopes & Dreams is not only a fast fun ride to single hand, she is capable of extended trips. She has sailed from Maine to the Bahamas and back to the Long Island Sound where she continues to cruise extensively Spring through Fall.

The combination of the highest quality marine materials and hardware, together with advanced building techniques, produce a lightweight composite assembly that is capable of handling offshore conditions and will remain trouble free for years with a minimum of effort.

The Maine Cat 33 is in a class by itself, delivering the promise of real high-performance multihull sailing.

Hopes & Dreams has always been professionally and lovingly maintained and kept in immaculate condition.
