HEYHU is a super example of one of the most sought after offshore cruising boats on the planet!

Beautifully designed by Robert Perry and laid out, she is of moderate displacement, With a good righting moment, she is designed to carry all your cruising gear without affecting the performance. Se is easily driven and really lights up in a good breeze.

She is constructed of solid fibreglass and heavily laid up of 24 oz roving, strong and solid, keel is cast iron encapsulated in fibreglass; There is no chance of it falling off! She was built in 1985 by craftsmen at King Dragon Yachts in Taiwan, famous for their teak joinery, which is stunning on these boats!

The underbody is similar to famous Valiant 40 except for the transom.

Long fin and skeg hung rudder.

HEYHU is a masthead sloop /cutter with a removable inner fore stay, inline spreaders and runners ideal for setting a double headsail rig for these long downwind passages.

She is beautifully balanced, fast, yet has a very sea kindly motion. She can be easily sailed short handed and comes with a mechanical self steering as well as an electronic one with direct drive onto quadrant.

The cockpit is fully protected from the weather with a Bimini top and dodger, and sides

Standing rigging was renewed in 2013 and chain plates replaced 5 in 2024 and 3 in 2013 .

Running rigging is all in good condition

Heyhu is powered by a sturdy and reliable Perkins 55 HP diesel engine that has been regularly serviced , she starts first time every time.

The Perkins diesel engine was compression tested by a mechanic and found to be in excellent working order

There is excellent access to the engine is by removable panels on all sides and engine space insulated for silent running.

HEYHU Also comes with a 2022 Highfield Ultralight 290 RIB dinghy and 9.9HP Tohatsu 2 stroke outboard engine .

Her 440W Solar panels on the stern arch along with her D400 wind generator easily run the fridge freezer and daily needs for electronics. She also comes with a 35 GPH desalinator which runs off the Honda 2000 Gas generator.

All of the items that have been known to cause issues on the Passport 40 have been attended to.

Chain plates ,elbows, water tanks, teak decks ( still there but has been recaulked and replugged and has a lot of thickness left, with no leaks.

rudder post ,

The standing rigging was just checked by professionals and found to be sound.

This is from present owner:

HAYHU HAS A CLASSIC LINES, A SOLID TEAK INTERIOR AND GOOD ALL ROUND PERFORMANCE. A Bluewater vessel with amazing performance for who is looking for comfort, safety and fun. The interior and the galley size is just amazing and comfortable. The ceiling insulation plus the considerable sizes of the ceiling hatches provide a nice wind flow and a perfect temperature sensation on the heat. As a family of 3 we had a good time sailing and living onboard during a few months of the past years cruising comfortably and safely.

She is a joy to look at with all the topsides , canvas work, decks, running rigging , standing rigging and sails in really super condition.

OWNERS COMMENTS HISTORY of HAYHU

THE ENGINE IS IN GOOD WORKING ORDER AND RUNNING STRONG, THE SAILS SHOW LIGHT USE.

Hayhu was purchased by myself in Dec 2017 to be cruising with my family of 3 during the winter in the Caribbean. Sailing from Annapolis to Antigua Caribbean, in Winter time, was a challenging trip and a good sea trial where she proved that she is a strong seaworth boat, the wind vane worked well beyond my expectations giving a good rest for the hydraulic autopilot and crew in a long passage.

In the Caribbean we sailed her from Antigua to most of the West Indies Islands. She’s been kept in the dry dock for the hurricane seasons and sailed on the winters. Last winter she was kept on the hard making 1 year plus of storage on the dry. She had a new bottom painted in January 2024 and some cosmetics work was done. This season Hayhu was splashed in January and has been sailing around Antigua & Barbuda Islands till now.

As a professional Yacht captain Hayhu was kept on high standards with updated maintenance and service schedule
