DESCRIPTION

Owned by a former winner of the Mini Transat class, Pogo Structures, formed in 1987, started building half-tonner racing yachts in the 1980’s. The company has stayed at the forefront of boat-building technology and alongside the production yachts they still build significant numbers of Mini Transat and Class 40 yachts. This same technology is put to practice building the Pogo range of performance cruisers with all hulls infused and weight saving a constant focus.

The Pogo 30 was conceived as a cruising-orientated design with a bit of the Pogo magic to produce an easily handled offshore performance cruiser easily capable of planning under white sails alone. Commissioned by her current owner the Pogo 30 APOGEE was launched for the 2016 season and has been very lightly used for cruising since. Boasting a comprehensive list of optional extras her extensive inventory features highlights such as:

  • Vinylester-infused hull laminate
  • Coppercoat antifouling
  • Optional higher horsepower Volvo Penta D1-20, 18hp engine with only 106hrs running

PRESS REVIEW:
‘It’s different. It’s cool. It’s stiff. It’s light. It even whistles. And yes, it is more of an ‘it’ than a she. The Pogo 30 is muscular yet lightfooted and behaves similarly to a fast dinghy or multihull: direct, fast and fun with a potential to pulsate in any given puff.

Monohulls that plane tend to be lightweight dinghies or raceboats. So, when you get up to speed you get a big hit of adrenaline as the boat is pushed to the limits of control.

Cruising on the Pogo was different. Planing only heightened the feeling of relaxed sailing, while also reducing the loads and passage times. Travelling above the water (rather than pushing through it) is addictive.’

OWNERS COMMENT:
‘We have found the Pogo 30 is a human sized, very manageable super fun boat to own and sail. With the light weight and planning ability comes very low sheet loads which makes everything easier to handle and less stressful. The huge form stability means she doesn’t need to be heeled over 15 degrees for best speed and the huge cockpit is fantastic at anchor with tillers raised. She's also good for comfort as she doesn’t pitch or roll but follows the waves very closely and when planing all goes quiet, extremely stable, easy and fun.’
