General Overview

The owners bought Valtair in late 2002, and it was extensively refitted and refurbished from the bare hull to new riggings and sails. It took nearly two years in Brisbane to re-commission Valtair. Significant upgrades included the addition of modern comforts such as a generator, air conditioning system, watermaker, additional fuel and water tanks, a furling boom, and an entertainment center.

Accommodation

Valtair features five double cabins: two at the fore for the crew, one in the mid section, and two at the aft. The two aft cabins share a head (bathroom), while the mid-section cabin has an attached head. The vessel can accommodate ten people, with four for crew and six for guests. If the owner is on board, it can also take two couples as guests.

Saloon and Cockpit

A large mid-section saloon cum-dining area offers panoramic views, and the cockpit is designed for lounging and outdoor dining under the shade of the bimini.

Maneuverability

With all the hydraulic and automatic equipment on board, Valtair can be easily sailed with a minimum crew. The vessel has been provided with a permanent crew of a husband (skipper) and wife (mate), along with two lucky volunteers who may be recruited from time to time.

This high-performance cruising cutter sloop has a blue aluminum hull and superstructure, with a length of 64.96 ft, a beam of 16.73 ft, and a maximum draft of 7.55 ft. It is powered by two Yanmar engines with a total output of 150 HP. The cruising speed is approximately 9 knots.
