The Saga family of yachts designed by Alan Pape and built by the Skentelbery yard in Plymouth are renowned for their sea kindly and supremely capable hulls. The Saga 40 is the largest and most capable of this range all of which were built with no expense spared, the hull is of massive layup resulting in a small ship feel which weighs some 15 tons in commission. This vessel is beautifully fitted out in hard wood offering forecabin with double berth, 2 outboard sea bunks in the main saloon and a quarter berth aft. Seating for 6 -8 people around a bespoke table coupled to a large galley with fridge/freezer and a 4 burner cooker allows the opportunity to entertain with ease, the large tankage including toilet holding tank and calorifier means you are never short of water. Power is supplied by a reliable Perkins 4108 matched to fixed 3 blade propeller, with a powerful bow thruster this yacht is surprisingly agile in close quarters. Oversize self tailing winches allow easy sail handling and both powered tiller pilot and Monitor wind vane make long distance passages effortless. There is complete set of sails including main,Yankee,staysail,storm jib and chute. All standing rigging was renewed in 2022 and running rigging in 2023. The yacht has a full suite of electronics from ray marine including c120 chart plotter and radar. The Lofrans anchor winch works the 80 metres of chain easily and the neat arrangement of 3 different types of anchor ensures you will always anchor successfully whatever the seabed. The yacht completed an 8 week trip around Scotland and Ireland this summer and is ready for any adventure
