Fortuna was built in 1990 to German Lloyd class 3 standard by Kuipers, the Netherlands 'Rolls Royce' of steel yacht builders. A book of photos will be handed over to the buyer. She is an ocean going sailing yacht (cutter rig, in-mast main furling) with a centre cockpit and massive tankage (750L fuel and 900L water) perfect for long cruises with a small crew. The fair round-bilge steel hull has the appearance of glass fibre. She is extremely seaworthy with watertight bulkheads fore and aft. There is a glass fibre bimini with a complete (new) cockpit tent which can also be partially used at sea in inclement weather to give a protected 'wheelhouse'. She has been very lightly used by the present owner since 2005 and since that date she has always been yard maintained. Electronics and rigging have been updated as required, including replacement roller refers for genoa and stays'l. She is fitted with a Hydrovane and a sophisticated Robertson electronic self-steering system.
A 2021 valuation survey is available and reports "Fortuna is considered to be well equipped and generally in good condition but perhaps is in need of some updating."
Spars, Rigging and CanvasMain, genoa, stays'l, spinnaker, storm jib, all serviceable and currently stored indoors (with cockpit tent).
Bills for recent renewal of standing and running rigging and furlers.
Sail sheets will need to be replaced.
