Windflower is a Gaffer rigged 31 foot classic wooden sailing yacht, built in 1932 in the Woodnutt yard at St Helens, Isle of Wight. She was designed by Alfred Westmacott, who also designed the X-one, Solent Sunbeam, and Victory classes, all of which have a large following today.
Her full history is known, and she has been continually well maintained, refitted, and upgraded throughout her life. She is currently in great condition, having been substantially refitted over the last few years. Her engine is the excellent 20hp Beta diesel, which has been regularly serviced. She had a new stainless steel fuel tank in 2022.
Windflower is a delightful boat to sail with a very good turn of speed. She draws attention wherever she goes. Her current owner has won numerous races, including the Yarmouth old gaffers regatta twice, the Royal Lymington Regatta outright, Taittinger regatta overall, and many more. She is registered with the British Classic Yacht Club and is eligible for their events.
Windflower Gaffer 31 is in great condition and ready to go for this season. She is currently afloat in Lymington. Please call Howard Ross for more information and to arrange a viewing. She is available to be viewed 7 days a week.
Accommodation:Windflower has two berths, a chart table, and space for a single burner cooker. Her interior joinery is all in excellent condition.
Inventory:In 2022, Windflower underwent a major refit, with articles described as new being new in 2022.
