Once in a while at Waypoint Yacht Brokers we come across a vessel that is as out of the ordinary as it is extraordinary. Blue Thunder is just that. Designed by the current owner and built by his company Wade Performance Craft in Australia and launched in 1997 this vessel demands attention and turns heads wherever she goes. Specifically built for the challenging seas off Australia the fine entry hull combined with two new Volvo 5.7 Gi 250 hp engines ensure Blue Thunder can power effortlessly through most sea conditions to be found around the British Isles.
With a top speed of around 45 knots Blue Thunder will satisfy the most discerning of thrill seekers but for those of a more sedate disposition cruising at 20 knots is a pure comfortable pleasure.
The hull is wood laminate sheathed with Dynel cloth and opxy resin finished with two-pack epoxy paint.
Whilst Blue Thunder is undoubtedly built for speed it is not at the expense of comfort. Below she has seating/berths for two, a gally and separate heads. She comes with a spray hood, cockpit tent and a road trailer.
