DESCRIPTION

Westerly Oceanmaster  - Built in 1990 and fitted with a Yanmar 4jh-4HTE 110hp in 2008. Doyen was the 1991 prestigious boat show yacht and has had 3 owners from new. The present owner since 2003. Doyen was lifted into our Bangor yard for a major refit starting pre-covid in 2018, New standing rigging, updated instrumentation, new headliners, new hatches, windows, lighting upgrades were made in transatlantic preparation. The current owner has spared no expense to keep this iconic vessel in excellent seagoing readiness. With Covid putting scotch to his plans this vessel is truly ready to be enjoyed and adventured by her next custodian.

This beautiful and well made yacht is ready and early viewing recommended. An excellent example of this model . She has been specked by the current owner for extended Bluewater sailing and is ready to go.

The Westerly Oceanmaster 48, designed by renowned naval architect Ed Dubois, is a robust Bluewater cruiser built to take on long-distance ocean voyages in comfort and safety. Constructed in 1990, this vessel has been well-maintained and regularly updated, making her ideal for serious sailors looking for a yacht capable of crossing oceans or extended cruising.

  • Rigging: Cutter rig with aluminum spars by Kemp and stainless-steel standing rigging renewed in 2018.

The interior of this Oceanmaster 48 is finished in high-quality teak joinery, providing a warm and comfortable ambiance. Ample natural light and ventilation are provided by large deck hatches and portlights.

  • Navigation Station: Full-size chart table with dedicated seating and space for additional electronics.
  • Aft Cabin: Large double berth, private en-suite head with shower, hanging lockers, and additional storage.

  • Winches: Self-tailing winches for halyards and sheets. 8 x Barient Winches.
  • Sails: Inmast furling Mainsail, furling genoa, and staysail. Ratsey and Lapthorn sails 2004 new in 2004 but in excellent condition (Staysail /Genoa /Mainsail) . Spinnaker and snuffer in excellent condition
  • Safety Gear: Liferaft ( in need of recertification , EPIRB, fire extinguishers, bilge pumps.
  • New Wind Screen and dodger for cockpit protection.
