A rare varnished mahogany Andrews slipper stern launch

We are proud to present Cheetah with her varnished mahogany/ pine interior and carvel mahogany exterior showing the beauty of the shape with no distraction. The discreet navy antifouling complements the navy hood. There is a matching full length acrylic canvas cover. Cheetah was restored for the previous owner by Peter Freebody of Hurley and bears his initials on the traditional spoked steering wheel. The central cockpit is roomy (it does vary from one model to another) with blue painted Lloyd loom chairs and a comfortable aft bench. Not all slipper stern launches, even from Andrews of Bourne End, are equal and this is one of the better ones in my opinion. In spring 2023 the hull was entirely revarnished and Cheetah boasts a fresh coat of antifouling as well as shiny varnished floorboards. Cheetah is number 336, built in 1947 just after the end of WWII.

This boat has been maintained to a high standard over the years and comes with a comprehensive maintenance file. Powered by a classic petrol engine, finely tuned and maintained having been rebuilt two years ago for her current owner. He is willing to consider subletting his privately owned Whitchurch on Thames mooring for a new owner. These are lovely moorings in a pastoral setting opposite the famous Swan pub at Pangbourne and on the glorious Goring Gap reach of the river Thames.
