An early Andrews turtle deck slipper stern launch, Wishbone presents well with her smart green livery, two lloyd loom chairs and an roomy aft bench. We have two similar boats for sale at the moment including Swallow and they may well be two of the three which I am aware of still in existence. They were built in Maidenhead by John Andrews and may well have been inspired by a boat named Merk which is in the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth. Wishbone has a full cover, canopy, fenders etc and is ready to inspect in the Kingston area where she has been for several years. The owner is keen to sell hence the price. The BSS is up to date and the Austin 7 marinised petrol engine, installed during the 2005 restoration, has been well maintained and is ready to fire up and take you down the river Thames or any other waterway to which you have access.
Last time we sold Wishbone II I noted that she had been owned by the Classic boat Museum owners on Lake Como. When she returned to the Thames in the early noughties she was renamed Maid Marian before being returned to her original moniker by Harts Boatyard who carried out a first restoration in 2005. Since then they have been maintaining the boat for the current owners. Sporting british racing green and burgundy livery and smart brightwork she seats four to five on the classic bench seats of the earlier launches with comfortable velvet buttoned cushions.
