Wooden Ships Comments on this Swedish Pilot Cutter

Designed by Albert Andersson, a professional colleague of Colin Archer, this vessel clearly takes much inspiration from his designs.

Built at Lundbergs & Karlssons shipyard in Gothenburg and launched in 1893, she was one of 5 pilot cutters constructed for work in the Gothenburg Archipelago. It is also thought she participated in the Dunkirk evacuations, although no clear proof has been found.

A major rebuild occurred in which the hull was completely re-planked in oak, with all new galvanised bolt fastenings. The deck layout and rig were restored as closely to the original as possible using original plans.

In current ownership since 2018, she was used as a liveaboard cruising boat in the Baltic before arriving at her current berth in Gothenburg. She has not been sailed much in the last few years and currently needs some time ashore for maintenance.

The last professional survey was conducted in 2020.

This is a fine-looking original Swedish pilot vessel with all the features and hallmarks expected of a vessel of her type.
