Yacht Overview

A rare opportunity to purchase a 32 foot yacht in need of refurbishment at a much reduced price. The Ilmer DS 32 is a roomy, Dutch built steel yacht with lifting keel, wheelhouse, and tiller steering. The deck saloon layout provides plenty of room inside with:

• Aft double cabin
• Raised dinette seating / dining area to starboard
• Good sized linear galley to port with:
  • Gas oven
  • Hob and grill
  • Fridge
  • Sink with pressurized hot and cold water
• Head compartment with shower and holding tank
• Large forecabin with V berth double

Construction

Steel construction of the hard chine hull, decks, and wheelhouse. Lifting keel (draft 0.92m to 1.83m). Single rudder with wheel steering inside and tiller steering from the cockpit. The rudder has two bolts securing it to the rudder post, and one of these has corroded out. We believe the rudder brackets (see pictures of rudder circa 2011) will need grinding off and replacing. The hull would now benefit from shot blasting and repainting.

Mechanicals

Mitsubishi 16.5hp diesel with shaft driven 3 bladed fixed propeller. Bank of 3 x 12V batteries (new in spring 2023) provide engine start and service power. These are charged via the engine or a shore power battery charger. Since the new batteries were fitted, some of the electronics have stopped working and will need investigation.

Rigging and Sails

Bermudan rig with deck stepped alloy mast and spars and stainless wire standing rigging. Slab reefing mainsail with lazy jacks and sail coat. Roller furling Genoa. The sails are said to be in "OK condition".
